Hello everyone! I’ll be sharing a few thoughts on a controversial topic- NETWORK MARKETING also known as MULTILEVEL MARKETING (MLM). Why controversial? Because it makes many people cringe at their past experiences and records of losses.

Marketing is the soul of any business. It is a system of selling satisfaction to targeted users in exchange for cash. Without it, the business stagnates and dies. A network, by definition is a chain of relationships emerging from an initiator. Many of us may already be familiar with the general concept behind this business model.

The simplest definition of a networking programme done right is ‘’people HELPING people’’. It’s not about using people. When you are in a network, you simply build representations of yourself in other people. You show them the growth curve and a baton to run with and they continue in the race. The promised benefits are extremely enticing. But with so many negative stories, obviously, network marketing has its’ challenges. I’ll quickly address a few.

1. How can I differentiate between a genuine and a scam Network Marketing Programme?

The first step in checking the legitimacy of a programme is going online. This is because there are numerous programmes with different products and the easiest check method is going through On the search tab, type ‘www. ( website) + Scam’. So if the prospective networking program’s website is, type in ‘’ (as ONE word)

Go through the search results and reviews from both happy customers and others. You can then weigh your options and decide if you want to give it a try or walk away.

2. How Do I get started in MLM or NM? 

Your best bet is going in through a mentor. Before choosing one however, ask yourself questions like, is he/she committed to teamwork or only after personal results without minding who else fails? How deep has he/she gone in the business and what solutions are they ready to give to a ‘drowning’ member that has not figured things out?

Also, examine the following questions: how well can you talk about the product this system is marketing? do you understand it?  It’s easier if you really believe in what you’re marketing. If all you can tell a prospect is, “it will be good if you buy this or register for that” just so you can cycle out and get paid, you’ll quickly accumulate lots of unhappy customers. Get information about the product so much that you can show the benefits in and out.

3. I want to go into Networking but I have very few personal friends, how do I start?

People love good news, even if you have just 2 friends, when you share your success stories and you’re ready to help out with any problem they encounter, your friends will join your network and the friends they convince will also be linked to you; so you keep growing.  SPREAD THE NEWS NOT THE RUMOURS

Join a good team with multiple success stories, and you will never be stuck because they constantly share the methods that make them grow and you will have access to so many teachers. Look carefully through such groups. Any one that seems to be responding well in the team you can contact them as your personal mentor.


Ø  inability to recruit prospects

Ø  being stuck and not earning

Ø  being recruited by a selfish prospect

If you’re new to MLM, these 3 major problems can be solved by joining a great TEAM. Personally, I have been with some network marketing programmes like Xplocial, penny matrix, ad experts, the $7000commission e.t.c. Do your research and decide what works for you.

Ask yourself this question, if every person around me does things like I have always done it, will I get the results I have always expected for myself and for the world at large?

Learn from champions. The best you can get from a pessimist is the analysis of how a great idea won’t work. Where champions meet, everyone is a champ. Go find them and do what they do to getting the results they are getting.

Believe this, you can get it if you really want but you must never stop trying. It’s in you.
