A FATHER’S LOVE [2]

In my last post, I promised to share two thoughts on the subject of the Heavenly Father’s love.

[Read A Father’s Love (1) here]

Today, as I think about it, I’m almost confused about what to share- there’s so much to talk about! But I’ll contain myself and stick to our original agreement. So here we go.

GOD IS EXTREMELY EAGER TO SHARE HIS THOUGHTS FOR YOU- WITH YOU.

The question of personal purpose is one of the most profound subjects to consider. What are you really doing on the earth? Why did you show up in the first place? What are you supposed to do with all this time and this thing called life? Is it just enough to eat, go to school, get a job or start a business, raise a family, grow old and die?  That’s it? The end? Every time I’ve thought about it, the script I just reeled feels hollow. I mean, is that all I’m here to do?

I believe there’s more. I believe there’s more for each of us than just going through the daily grind, hustling to get all we can and can all we get. There’s something else. It’s called purpose. And I believe God has one of those for everyone- yes, you too.

The problem, I think, starts when we want to find that purpose. For some shady reason, some of us imagine that accessing such important information will require self-flagellation; that we need some sort of ‘serious’ activity to convince God that we mean business about knowing His thoughts for us.

But that’s not so.

Picture just how much more exciting life would be knowing that everyday, you’re doing what you’re supposed to do, you’re living out your purpose. Wouldn’t that be great? Now,  think about the thrill of the purposeful life and tell me how God (the one who started this whole thing in the first place) would ever be reluctant to let you in on this.

I would like to know, why would God ever hold back such crucial information from us only to show up later to ask what we’ve done with our lives?

See, if you know nothing else about God, know this- He’s pumped up, absolutely juiced up to share his thoughts for you, with you. He wants to show you all the good stuff he thought up about you and how you can get involved with them right away.

For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us]

EPHESIANS 2:10 [The Amplified Bible]

Remember my little niece from the first part of this post?  She’s over two years old now and I just can’t wait to have our ‘adult conversations’. I want to tell her stories about my childhood,  Personally, I just love having conversations with kids. I talk with them like adults as closely as I can manage it.

As me as I am, I’m eager to share my life with our little angel. How much more God? What does he gain by playing hide and seek with your life? What benefits accrues to him from you second guessing why you’re here everyday? Think about that. Why would He delay such a beautiful experience?

I guess you’re reaching the same conclusion I did- He is not hiding from us because there’s nothing to gain from that. We’ve somehow been deceived into thinking that knowing God’s purpose for our lives is some foggy exercise with lots of rituals and self-denial. I’m not saying be lackluster about these things either. But don’t think your ‘acts of seriousness’ add anything to God’s willingness to convey his thoughts about you to you. He has been ready before you knew what being ready meant.

So get this today, the Father loves you and is extremely eager and happy to share his heart with you. The question is, are you ready for Him?
